The producers behind world renowned children’s television show Sesame Street and multi-awarded Filipino artist Rico Blanco are on track in their drive to encourage learning. Last March, the campaign kicked off a new education movement called “Sesame Street Kid Ako”, (I am a Sesame Street Kid). And as ambassador of the Sesame Street project, Rico Blanco also shares his voice for the campaign and creates a new take on Sesame Streets’ favorite and classic songs. Rico shares, “I’ve always credited Sesame street as one of my biggest early musical influences, shaping my taste in music as a kid, and the kind of music I would later gravitate to as a grown up.”

(Manila, Philippines, March TK, 2011):  The producers behind world renowned children’s television show Sesame Streetand multi-awarded Filipino artist, Rico Blanco are kicking off a new education campaign called “Sesame Street Kid Ako”, (I am aSesame Street Kid).  In March2011, the partners will create a Sesame Street corner with TV and DVD set, books, and Sesame Street videos at a public school to encourage laughter and learning at an early age. Walkaround Elmo and Cookie Monster will be on hand to join in the education celebration.

At the recently concluded 32nd Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA 2010) held last October 13, Wednesday atthe University of Sto . Tomas Medicine Auditorium, GMA7 won Best Music Video for a special Bangon – GMA Special for the victims of Ondoy and Pepeng.

Rico Blanco- OPM’s premier rock singer/songwriter and all-around musical genius is riding the proverbial musical peak with his third hit single off his critically acclaimed solo debut disc Your Universe, under Warner Music Phils.

The infectious, modern pop/rock track “Antukin” literally has “class” written all over it, yet highlights Blanco’s traditionally uncanny knack to tug at the heartstrings of everyday Pinoys and their sentiments. After a double salvo of hits off the abovementioned disc, namely 2008′s grand rock epic “Yugto” and the catchy-as-hell chart-topper “Your Universe,” Blanco shows no signs of slowing down as “Antukin” is now enjoying the top spot on nationwide radio and even on local music channel giant MYX. Truly, the feat speaks for itself, as not only the fans are aware of the artist/musician’s knack for creating definite classics in the OPM world.
