Pedicab is here with the Deluxe Edition of Shinji Ilabas Mo na ang Helicopter, complete with new remixes by DJ Funk Avy of their chart topping hits “Ang Pusa Mo” and “Simulan Mo Na”, as well as the bonus track and Frenzy jingle, “Sandali”!

Their single “Ang Pusa Mo” has receiving frequent air play to various radio stations and “Ang Pusa Mo” also won as Favorite Rock Video in the 2009 Myx Music Awards.

Pedicab’s use of vintage analog synthesizers instead of the traditional bass guitar, as well as Diego’s quirky vocal style and eclectic lyrics, have given Pedicab a unique sound, reminiscent of ‘80’s synthpop, but with a garage rock flavor.

Pedicab is also psyched with their newest single “Simulan Mo Na”. The music video is currently drawing raves in the playlist of top music video channels MYX, Channel V and MTV. To vote for SIMULAN MO NA key in: MYX (SPACE) VOTE (SPACE) SIMULAN MO NA (SEND TO 2366) and MTVVOTE (SPACE) SIMULAN MO NA (SEND TO 2976).

Time to tease your hair, put on your acid washed jeans, and wear neon clothing. THE 80s ARE BACK!!! Magic 89.9 and MCA Music present – FRIDAY MADNESS, the album. Featuring the best music from the 80s On 2 CDs.

The 80s were dominated by the widespread use of synthesizers and keyboards. In the United States, MTV was launched and music videos began to have a huge effect on the record industry. Pop artists such as Duran Duran, Tears For Fears, Wham!, and Michael Jackson mastered the format and helped turned this new product into a profitable business.

The 80’s saw a time when the charts, MTV and Arena venues were overloaded with big hair, load guitars and people that should really know better. This retrospective release takes you back to that time to bask in the glory of a bygone period when men could look like women and no one knew the damage we were causing to the ozone layer with our excessive usage levels of aerosol hairspray cans.

Time to rush to your favorite Odyssey Music & Video or O Music & Video and grab a copy of FRIDAY MADNESS The Album, 2CDs for only Php395. Brought to you by Magic 89.9, MCA Music, Odyssey Music & Video, O Music & Video. Visit www.getmusic.com.ph for more info.

Catch the launch of FRIDAY MADNESS – The album, on August 28, 9pm, E’s Bar, Edsa Shangri-La.

Last August 11, 2009, award-winning, avant-garde artist, top-selling, phenomenal, fashion icon of our time, Lady Gaga performed live at the Araneta Coliseum that marked the tipping point of a new dawn in pop culture that only Lady Gaga can infuse in the Philippines. Her day started with a controversial entrance to Philippine shores that only she could pull-off. She arrived wearing a silver sequined, red gemmed Vivienne Westwood bikini ensemble that she put together herself. Her first steps immediately began a ruckus filled with anticipation and excitement as millions of Filipinos stayed glued to what Lady Gaga will do in conjunction to making her concert and her album, The Fame known.

Before the main event, Lady Gaga was given a gold award by her label MCA Music Inc. for the successful release of her album The Fame which houses the hit singles Just Dance, Poker Face, Love Game, and her new hit Paparazzi. The album is also expected to reach platinum in a few weeks. As a token of appreciation for the kind of music and culture that Lady Gaga continues to offer to the Filipino music audience, local retailer Maldita also handcrafted one of a kind 5-inch heel shoes with designs perfect for Lady Gaga’s fashion flair.

Lady Gaga was quick to answer in all her interviews and yet each statement can pass for a slogan or a song title. When asked what’s next after her esteemed rapid climb to fame, Lady Gaga revealed the repackaged version of her album, The Fame which will be called The Fame Monster. She will also be continuously touring the world and with the success of her songs and concert here in the Philippines, there’s a great chance for her to stop by for a second time.

The night of the concert became a gathering of diverse personalities from members of manila’s glitterati to mass spectators who wanted to catch a glimpse of the intriguing image and talent that Gaga has been known for. Lady Gaga exceeded expectations with each performance. From her outrageous costumes that included glitter, bubbles and police inspired paraphernalia to the extreme props that she utilized that even included a vespa, the show was hailed as one of the best for the year. As expected, the sold-out concert was able to accommodate more than 13,000 spectators who screamed, danced and savored every beat that Lady Gaga stomped to during the show.

The award-winning, debut album of Lady Gaga, The Fame is available in all Odyssey, Astrovision, SM Record Bars and Music One stores. The original recordings and remixes of Lady Gaga are also available for your cell phone through downloads via WAP.

One of the best things that were created for man is the weekend – a time to relax, unwind and look forward to a brighter new week. Yet, ever since the dawn of this phenomenal quintet, the weekend became secondary and Saturdays became more than just part of a calendar. It became the name that unites the extraordinary talents of Frankie, Mollie, Vanessa, Rochelle and Una , popularly known as The Saturdays!

They all got together in an audition back in 1997. Before getting together, each of the members already built a name for themselves in the UK. Frankie Sanford and Rochelle Weisman were past members of the once popular S Club Juniors. Mollie King performed in the UK show X Factor and appeared in two episodes of an on-line show called Sam King. Una was initially part of a rock band before entering the group. Vanessa White who is a half – Filipina that grew up in Davao entered the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School that also taught the likes of Amy Winehouse, Leona Lewis and more. She also appeared in West End’s Lion King.

As a group, they have made a name for themselves in the UK mainly because of their songs in their debut album Chasing Lights. Aside from being the favorite background music of TV shows both internationally and locally with the likes of Ugly Betty and ASAP, their singles If This is Love, Up, the Depeche Monde remake Just Can’t Get Enough and their new singles Issues and Work have each gained more than 3 million hits on Youtube. Their first single Up has also been on Itunes and Billboard charts seating on top positions several weeks in a row. Billboard reviews the album, “has infectious quality which proves the recent top 10 success of their singles.”

To describe the music of The Saturdays is like describing a child that stands out in the middle of a grown-up crowd. They have a new take on pop, a genre that has long existed in the industry. They have a bit of everything else, dance, R&B, ballads, even songs that can pass as exercise tracks. It includes anything and everything that will take to surprise a listener and make the journey through a new album worthwhile. Yet, despite the emergence of both novice and master names in the narrow-world in which the group belongs to, The Saturdays shines through with their talent, beauty and passion for what they do.

Catch The Saturdays Live in SM Malls on these dates:

Before the controversies, legal battles, and all the showbiz fodder, there was Michael Jackson – born August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana to a working-class family, he was the seventh of nine children.

Jackson flashed musical brilliance early in his life, performing in front of classmates and others during a Christmas recital at the tender age of five. In 1964, Michael together with Marlon joined the Jackson Brothers—a band formed by brothers Jackie, Tito and Jermaine—as backup musicians playing congas and tambourine, respectively. Jackson later began performing backup vocals and dancing; at the age of eight, he and Jermaine assumed lead vocals, and the group’s name was changed to The Jackson 5. In 1966, they won a major local talent show with renditions of Motown hits and James Brown’s “I Got You (I Feel Good)”, led by Michael.

The Jackson 5 recorded several songs and signed with Motown Records in 1968. Rolling Stone magazine later described the young Michael as “a prodigy” with “overwhelming musical gifts”, noting that Michael “quickly emerged as the main draw and lead singer” after he began to dance and sing with his brothers. The group set a chart record when its first four singles (“I Want You Back”, “ABC”, “The Love You Save” and “I’ll Be There”) peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Beginning in 1972, Jackson released a total of four solo studio albums with Motown, among them Got To Be There and Ben. These were released as part of the Jackson 5 franchise, and produced successful singles such as “Got to Be There”, “Ben” and a remake of Bobby Day’s “Rockin’ Robin”.

Throughout his legendary career, Michael Jackson had 29 Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts. 13 Grammy Awards, 13 number one singles in his solo career—more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era—and the sale of over 750 million albums worldwide.

Complete your collection or start one, with these essential Michael Jackson releases, available in all record stores nationwide, for only Php225 each, only from MCA Music Inc.

He was the “King of Pop”, a Rock and Roll Hall-of-Famer, and the “Most Successful Entertainer of All Time”. But before all the sold-out concerts, the Grammy wins, and the unmistakable moonwalk, Michael Jackson was a scene-stealing child prodigy who, with a high, clear voice and a wide smile, sang and danced his way into the hearts of music lovers all over the world.

At the early age of 10, Michael had signed with Motown Records as a member of Jackson 5, a group that consists of him and his four brothers. They released timeless hits such as “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” and “I’ll Be There”. Proving himself early on to be the star of the group, Michael later released four solo albums under Motown, which spawned more gems from the rising superstar such as “Ben” and “Got to Be There”.

Celebrate the King of Pop’s early years in music with Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 – The Motown Years , a definitive collection of Michael’s earliest songs. The 3-CD album contains 50 of Michael’s and the Jackson 5’s hits during their Motown years, including “ABC,” “I Want You Back,” “Never Can Say Goodbye,” “You’ve Got A Friend,” “Ben,” “Ain’t No Sunshine,” and “One Day In Your Life”. The album will be hitting the shelves in July 2009 for only P495, from MCA Music.

The release of Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 – The Motown Years is a precious remembrance of the music icon’s illustrious career, a legacy unmatched in the entertainment industry. It is also a timely celebration of the pop legend’s birthday, which takes place on August 29, 2009. He would have been 50 years old.

The album also coincides with the 50th anniversary of Motown Records, the label that not only brought Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 to the fore, but also catapulted the careers of Diana Ross and The Supremes, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, and Four Tops.

The biggest boy group since The Beatles is back with a new album that reflects their softest side more than ever. Joe, Nick and Kevin, popularly known as the Jonas Brothers releases their new album, Lines, Vines and Trying and Times! The meaning of the title is simple. According to Nick, Lines are the lessons that we acquire in life. The wise words that are spoken to us as we go along this journey called life. Vines are the things that get in the way and Trying Times are the challenges that we face and the brothers hope that the music in their album will inspire other people to do great things.

Utmost anticipation rose ever since the first single, Paranoid was released. It garnered over 3 million views on YouTube in just ten days. It also topped Itunes, Billboards and US charts right after its release. Here in the Philippines, the single is already building up as it entered the countdown and certified Jonas Brothers fans are religiously voting away to get them to the top! The single was written by the brothers themselves with the help of Cathy Dennis who also wrote songs for the biggest names in music like Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears. The song reflects how The Jonas Brothers have evolved in their music that even the masters of music legends agree on working with them.

Aside from the attention that Paranoid got from people from across the globe, their song Fly with Me also became part of the soundtrack of the blockbuster movie, Night at the Museum 2 where the Jonas Brothers did the voice of the cherubs that came to life. The brothers picked the song as their favorite since it truly reflected their feelings while being on tour – how bad they wanted to be with their loved ones when they were far away.
