Keeping the Faith: 30 College Bands Rock the Stage for NESCAFÉ 3in1 Soundskool
College students all over the country sealed their best and hippest tunes into CD recordings in the hopes of taking a step closer to fame, fortune, and an opportunity to have a raving musical career. Over 2,500 submissions flooded NESCAFÉ 3in1 Soundskool 2010 and went through the screening process. The panel of judges is composed of Ronald Chuacokiong, NESCAFÉ 3in1 Soundskool Marketing Promotions
Executive, Vic Valenciano, A&R Director for Sony Music Philippines, Jinno Mina, A&R Department of Sony Music Philippines, Angee Rozul, Chief Sound Engineer of TRACKS, and Kean Cipriano, frontman and vocalist of Callalily.
“It was both a thrill and a challenge to go through all the entries,” says Chuacokiong. “We were treated to different styles and genres of music from all walks of life: Pop, Rock, Alternative, even a bit of Reggae and Christian-inspired songs. The Filipino youth overwhelmed us with so much talent and promise.”
After a rigorous 2-day session of screening and deliberations, the entries have now been narrowed to the 30 semi-finalists that will perform in front of a live audience for the regional eliminations, together with mentor band Callalily and NESCAFÉ 3in1 Soundskool 2009 Grand Winner Eevee.
The first round of eliminations will be held at the Skydome, SM North EDSA on October 2. Catch these college bands from the Luzon and NCR regions:

“More than the talent that the Filipino Youth showed, the judges were moved by the different messages of love, unity, maturity, and Filipino pride that resonated from their music,” adds Chuacokiong. “It will be interesting to see how these bands will connect with their peers.”

Catch the semi-finalists outplay the competition at the regional eliminations at the Skydome, SM North EDSA on October 2, and The Atrium, Limketkai Mall Cagayan de Oro on October 9 and rock with the bands as they get closer to making their musical dreams come true.
