Change is the name of the game for the fourth season of the critically acclaimed sports drama Friday Night Lights. With most of the team graduating and some of them moving on it’s time for a new goal and that means a move for Coach Eric Taylor. Premiering July 2, Friday at 8PM, catch the latest season of Friday Night Lights on ETC.
Having lost his job last season Coach Eric (Kyle Chandler) gets a break when the town is split into two new school districts. Taking up the position of coach of East Dillon High, he puts together a new team. But this new team and school are hardly like his former. East Dillon is a lesser-funded school and the students are tougher.
In walks avid gamer Vince Howard (Michael B. Jordan), who has only ever played football on a screen and not on a field. After being given the choice of joining the team or going to juvenile detention he soon discovers that running from the law is not the only thing he is good at. Also joining the East Dillon team is Luke Cafferty (Matt Lauria), a former West Dillon student who had been lying about his address to continue going to the more privileged school. Unlike others on his team, his parents disapprove of football and would rather have him home studying. Transferring over with Coach Eric is geeky Landry Clarke(Jesse Plemons) who makes the team as a kicker. Having been standing on the sidelines for so long, it is finally his time to shine on the field.
Based on a book and movie of the same name, Friday Night Lights was adapted into a TV drama by Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13). The show has been hailed for its realistic portrayal of Middle America and has won an Emmy for Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series.
