Back-to-back holiday marathons for the back-to-school season on cartoon Network!
New shows and series welcome the new school year

MANILA (June 8, 2010): Cartoon Network ushers in the back-to-school season with exciting back-to-back holiday marathons! Prepare to wipe away the summer blues with loads of cool new shows and a host of blockbuster movies to celebrate Independence Day and Father’s Day in June.
Get a taste of freedom on Independence Day by tagging along in the adventurous quests of Stuart Little. Watch as the loveable and enthusiastic mouse displays the spunk, spirit and courage to be true to oneself and to follow dreams despite the odds in A Little Independence Marathon – a whole day marathon of Stuart Little movies and episodes from the animated series airing on June 14 from 8:00 AM to 6:10 PM.

Spend Father’s Day by watching the wacky antics of Steve Martin in a Cartoon Network Popcorn double feature of Cheaper by the Dozen movies airing on June 20 at 12:00 PM. Follow the comical story of Tom and Kate Baker and their super-sized family of 12 in their struggles to keep it together through their crazy misadventures–from moving across the country to surviving a competitive summer vacation.
Cartoon Network Popcorn’s Back-to-School movie specials also haul in the funnies to liven up June afternoons. Warm up those funny bones for a parade of all-time comedy favorites from the outlandish Mr. Bean in Bean and Mr. Bean’s Holiday, to the kooky muppets in The Muppets Take Manhattan, and Kermit’s Swamp Years. Other shows on the funny train airing from June 15-July 2 include Bugs Bunny’s 1001 Rabbit Tales, Madeline, Fat Albert, Anastasia, Soccer Dog, The Nutty Professor, Everyone’s a Hero, The Cat in the Hat, Soccer Dog: European Cup and Ben 10 Alien Swarm.

Injecting some action every 9PM weekday nights in June, Cartoon Network Popcorn premieres pulse-pounding blockbuster movie series all month long. Join James T. Kirk, Spock, Dr. McCoy and the crew of the Enterprise in the 23rd century on exciting space adventures in the four-part Star Trek movie series then “Wash in” and “wash out” and train with Mr. Miyagi through Karate Kid movies 1-4. Hang out with Peter Parker and some automobile-morphing aliens in the premieres of Spiderman and Transformers. There’s also more fun to come with the premieres of Care Bears 2: A New Generation, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Looney Looney Looney Bugs Bunny, Harry and the Hendersons and Catch That Kid.
Rounding out the surprises are all new seasons of cartoon favorites and an exciting new show! Get ready to rumble with Team Dextera and Team Sinestra in the thumb-thumping fourth season of the Thumb Wrestling Federation premiering on June 5 at 9:55 AM. And just in time for World Cup fever, Cartoon Network kicks off Inazuma Elevenon June 7, weeknights at 7:30 PM. Follow Mamoru Endo, team captain of Raimon Jr. High soccer team and his friends as they muster up the courage and perseverance to become the number one soccer team in Japan!
Enchanting tales and marvelous adventures continue this month in Cartoon Network Star Lounge airing Sundays at 2:00 PM. Meet a pint-sized heroine named Thumbelina who lives in harmony with nature in the magical world of Twillerbees in Barbie Thumbelina. Then embark on a mystical journey as Merliah, a teenage surfing champion-turned mermaid sets off to save the ocean kingdom in Barbie in a Mermaid’s Tale. Finally, catch the inspiring tale of a young swan on a quest to find his own voice and win his true love’s heart in The Trumpet of the Swan.
