An awesome event and loads of new animated series pack a punch this summer!
MANILA (April 16, 2010) The Cartoon Network Hero Up campaign celebrates summer like no other with a power-packed line-up of new shows, topped with an awesome event all happening this month. The number one kids’ cable channel dishes out the Cartoon Network Hero Up Challenge! Giant Maze event and brings super-powered heroes and their action adventures straight from the Marvel and DC comic books onto television screens with the premiere of animated series, Iron Man Armored Adventures, Wolverine and the X-Men, and Super Hero Squad.
Cartoon Network brings to life hero adventures with the exciting Cartoon Network Hero Up Challenge! Giant Maze event on May 2 (Sunday), 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the SM Mall of Asia. Prepare to super-size the fun with a day of hero challenges, fun obstacles, and loads of Cartoon Network give-aways. Kids who show off their adventurous, inventive and heroic spirit in the games and challenges will receive fantastic prizes. Watch out for a surprise Cartoon Network character dropping by to join the Hero Up festivities. And the best part of all, the event is free for one and all to enjoy!
Then from the malls to the TV screens, Cartoon Network continues the Hero Up adventures! Starting May 3, plunge into loads of action and comedy with Iron Man, Hulk, Wolverine, Captain America and the rest of the mighty Marvel gang as they work together to fight against the villains of VillainVille in Super Hero Squad. Each new episode airing weekdays at 9 :00 AM and 4 :00 PM features a crazy face-off with VillainVille ruler, Dr. Doom, a megalomaniac with a towering intellect and a total mastery of science set to dominate the world starting with the destruction of Super Hero City. The brave heroes totally deliver the action – but with plenty of humor on the side.
Get set for high-tech battles and high-octane adventure with Iron Man Armored Adventures, with double episodes premiering May 3, Weekdays at 11 :00 AM and 5 :00 PM. The series follows Tony Stark, heir to a billion-dollar corporation, who lives a life of luxury – seeking extreme thrills, solving scientific mysteries and creating mind-boggling inventions.  Tragedy strikes when an accident robs Tony of his father and nearly costs him his own life. The once carefree Tony Stark finds himself in a struggle to balance his normal teenage desires with the staggering responsibility that comes with his revolutionary hi-tech flight armor, through which the world knows him as Iron Man.
The exciting adventures of those mutant super heroes known as the X-Men continue in the all-new animated series of Wolverine and The X-Men premiering on May 17, weekdays at 11:30 AM and 6:30 PM. The exciting story lifts off after a mysterious explosion devastates Professor Charles Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, which made the X-Men mutant heroes leaderless, without direction. When the group disbanded, Wolverine struck out on his own but reemerged a year after to reunite the X-Men to prevent a horrible vision of the future – a future where the X-Men gave up on Xavier’s mission and the world fell into chaos! With great tragedy in their past and their future, Wolverine is tasked to lead Xavier’s disillusioned students against the forces of fate and to steer the course of history away from catastrophe!
More Hero Up action is in the pipeline with a marathon of all-time favorite heroes Ben 10 and SpiderMan. On May 10, Monday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Cartoon Network dishes out the Ben 10 x 10 Marathon, a 10 episode marathon celebrating girl power with Ben Tennyson’s extraordinary sidekick, Gwen. The Ben 10 x 10 Marathon is set on May 10, Monday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
