Though Columbia Pictures’ real-life medical thriller “Extraordinary Measures” is largely driven by John Crowley (Brendan Fraser) and Dr. Stonehill (Harrison Ford), Aileen Crowley (Keri Russell) is in many ways the third hero of the story.  “Aileen Crowley said ‘I will take care of the children and give them a normal life, while you go out and look for the cure of our children’s disease. That will be our deal together,’” explains producer Michael Shamberg. “She acts every day like a normal mother but under the surface she’s very tough.”

Helena Bonham Carter stars as the Red Queen in Tim Burton’s epic 3D fantasy adventure “ Alice in Wonderland.”  Iracebeth, the Red Queen is the tyrannical monarch of Underland. With her oversized head, fiery temper and propensity to scream for people’s heads to be chopped off, she rules her subjects through fear. “She’s got emotional problems,” says Bonham Carter. “It takes nothing, practically, for her to lose her temper. Her tantrums are that of a two-year-old.” Her younger sibling, the White Queen, has designs on the throne and crown that Iracebeth once stole from her.

“What we liked about this story was that it was an action adventure but it also had something to say about commitment, sacrifice, survival and human nature,” offers Allen Hughes, who, with his twin brother, Albert, directed Columbia Pictures’ new action-adventure “The Book of Eli” starring Denzel Washington.  It is the fifth feature film for the pair, who made their auspicious debut at age 20 with the powerful and acclaimed inner-city drama “Menace II Society.”
