WILL FERRELL (Step Brothers, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby) stars as has-been scientist Dr. Rick Marshall, a man with no weapons, few skills and questionable smarts who must survive an alternate universe full of marauding dinosaurs and fantastic creatures from beyond our world.  Marshall has been sucked through a space-time vortex to a place of spectacular sights and super-scaled comedy known as the Land of the Lost which is due ion Metro Manila theaters on September 2.

In this age of virtual networking, nothing still beats the corporeal when it comes to bagging the best of times with our best friends.  It is all these doing and undoing of things taboo during adolescent years that makes high school the most unparalleled times for most, if not all.  Such is the case in the latest comedy “I Love You Beth Cooper” where up and coming young actor Jack Carpenter tackles basic teen issues with sheer talent under the magical hands of director Chris Columbus, who directed the first Harry Potter films – “Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone,” “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” and produced the third “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”

In Touchstone Pictures’ new sci-fi thriller “Surrogates,” people are living their lives remotely from the safety of their own homes via robotic surrogates—sexy, physically perfect mechanical representations of themselves. These robots are fit, good looking, remotely controlled machines that ultimately assume the people’s life roles—enabling the latter to experience life vicariously from the comfort and safety of their own homes.  It’s an ideal world where crime, pain, fear and consequences don’t exist.

Pan Asian Repertory Theatre (New York) collaborates with East West Players (EWP Los Angeles) to bring “Imelda” Off-Broadway, directed by Tim Dangwho also directed the show’s world premiere in L.A., with special performances from September 22 to October 18, 2009 at the Julia Miles Theater, 424 W 55th Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues. Opening night is Wednesday, September 30 at 7 p.m.

Buyers from all places flock to San Rafael and San Jose just to buy their product. Residents here claim they have the sturdiest hollow blocks because of the ingredients that they use — black sand and a special variety of pebble that locals call ormegon.
