You have the perfect husband.  You have the perfect child.  You have the perfect house.

Now another woman wants what you’ve got…and she’s obsessed.

Starring Beyoncé Knowles (“Dreamgirls”) and Ali Larter (TV’s “Heroes”), Columbia Pictures’ frightening psychological thriller “Obsessed” will be shown exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas (Glorietta 4 & Greenbelt 3) starting Sept. 2.

In the U.S. No. 1 hit film, Beyoncé Knowles stars as Sharon Charles, a smart young woman with a charmed life.  She has a handsome husband, Derek (Idris Elba); a sweet young son; and they’ve just moved into their dream home thanks to Derek’s recent promotion.

Then one day Derek meets a new temp at the office: Lisa (Ali Larter).  Beautiful, poised, and perpetually cheerful, Lisa is the perfect co-worker.  Soon Derek finds her crying at work over a boyfriend and tries to comfort her.  Then Lisa comes on to him at the company Christmas party, and he firmly tells her she’s got the wrong idea.  The next day she tries again.  Lisa won’t take no for an answer, and begins to come more and more unhinged with each and every refusal.  Soon, Derek becomes terrified by how far it appears Lisa’s obsession will go.

“`Obsessed’ is a dark tale of what can happen in the workplace,” says executive producer Glenn Gainor.  “A very perverse love triangle is created, unwillingly.”  When Lisa’s obsession takes a sinister turn, it’s anyone’s guess who will come out on top of the twisted triangle…or who will survive at all.

Even more than a tale of love gone too far, “Obsessed” is a worst-case scenario of what can happen when the roles of victim and perpetrator are reversed.   “We live in a modern world in which we all have to sign sexual harassment agreements at work,” says director Steve Shill.  “We are now, to a certain extent, at the mercy of the law, and we all have to be much more careful than we ever were.  We’re particularly at the mercy of someone who wants to exploit their rights…rationally or irrationally.”

“This film honestly is a great thriller,” adds Idris Elba.  “I don’t think it’s going to be what people expect.”

Ali Larter says simply, “I can promise you this: you’re not going to sit there and be bored!  It’s perfect to get away and be entertained.”

“I think this movie is very well-rounded,” says Knowles.  “It’s very dramatic, it’s very suspenseful.  But it’s also great fun – Steve understands the humor in all the drama, which is important.”  Knowles thinks the film is going to leave viewers feeling empowered, particularly women.  “Everyone can relate to it,” she says, “Good karma comes back.”

“Obsessed” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.  Visit www.sonypictures.com.ph to  see the latest trailers, get free downloads and play free movie games.
