Drama series on 2nd Avenue this June 2009
“Nip/Tuck” season 5 gears up for a shocking finale while “Saving Grace” starts a new season on 2nd Avenue on Thursday, June 25. Nip/Tuck airs at 10PM while Saving Grace airs at 9PM.
“Nip/Tuck,” the acclaimed plastic surgery drama, comes to a shattering conclusion as doctors Sean McNamara (Dylan Wash) and Christian Troy (Julian Mc Mahon) hit a crossroad that could potentially put an end to their relationship.
Season 5 began with Sean and Christian taking a major step in their career. The doctors relocated from Miami to Los Angeles with hopes of seeking a fresh start and reinventing their image. Convinced that celebrity status can bring them more new patients, the surgeons became medical consultants for a television drama. But little do they know that it would also be the cause of more friction between them.
As the season progressed, the doctors became unexpectedly faced with even bigger crises as Christian was diagnosed with cancer, while Sean discovered a new love in a moment of extreme vulnerability.
Returning to Philippine television on its second season is “Saving Grace” starring award-winning actress Holly Hunter (the Piano, O Brother Where Art Thou) as the troubled police detective. In just two seasons, Holly has already earned two consecutive Screen Actor nominations and one from the Emmys.
Part spiritual drama and part visceral crime thriller, “Saving Grace” follows the troubled police officer as she investigates brutal crimes while struggling to keep her personal life and relationships at bay. Guiding her through every step of the way is her “last-chance angel” Earl from whom she receives cryptic messages, while keeping her afloat are her devoted partner s Ham (Kenneth Johnson, The Shield) and her equally troubled best friend Rhetta Rodriguez (Laura San Giacomo, Just Shoot Me). 2nd Avenue is exclusively seen on UHF RJTV 29, Global Destiny Cable Channel 29, Sky Cable Channel 19, and Cable Link Channel 42).
